“Home is the nicest word there is.” – Laura Ingalls Wilder
There’s no place like home. Which is why so many of us are moved by the plight of the homeless. While on one hand it is truly saddening to see the hardships of homeless people, it’s heartwarming to see how people come forward to help them.
For instance, earlier this year we saw how Los Angeles was helping the homeless with its new parking meters. The coins collected from the parking meters went towards a non-profit that helps homeless people find housing. Then there was the story of a 9-year-old boy from Ohio who gave up his Christmas gift to buy blankets for the homeless.
So whether it’s by an innovative move by a city or just good old-fashioned kindness from a little boy, we can all be inspired to help homeless people. As you can imagine, the troubles of being homeless are much bigger when you’re not just homeless, but pregnant as well.
You can make a difference in the lives of these women who don’t have a roof over their heads. As you can imagine, these would-be mothers can use all the help and support they can get. Providing a shelter for these women is one of the most commendable things any person can do. At Sheltering Grace, we are proud of our staff’s relentless efforts and the exemplary generosity of our patrons.
Not everyone is fortune enough to have a home. So help us help the homeless. Little acts of kindness such as $10 a month go a long way when helping homeless expectant mothers. Donate and be part of our #Be1of5000 program. Make sure to share this with your friends and loved ones.
Sheltering Grace Ministry, Ltd. is a 501(c)3 Ltd. non-profit ministry. We resolve the initial crisis of homelessness by providing a safe place to live during pregnancy and by providing mothers with the tools they need to improve decision-making, to enhance employment options, and increase family income, to act responsibly as the head of their household, and to develop the self-reliance to progress to permanent independent living. Please join us in renewing and rebuilding the lives of these brave women – #Be1of5000.
