Caring for Children By Caring for their Mothers

“There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul than the way in which it treats its children.” – Nelson Mandela

Caring for a child really begins with caring for the mother when she’s pregnant with the child. The 9 months before birth are just as important as the years after it, if not more. So it is truly sad that not every pregnant woman is cared for the way she should be. Being homeless is bad enough for anyone. For a pregnant woman, it’s as tough as it gets. Providing a shelter for these women often means saving the unborn child.

Children are our future. They’re our hopes and dreams. For a mother, a child is her whole world. Every child you help save is like saving the world for the mother. A safe place to live, counseling and a personalized life plan are some of the things our shelter provides these brave women. And all this goes towards first enabling, and then building a better life for the children these brave women bear.

You have the chance to save many unborn babies’ lives. By being part of this cause, you’re safeguarding these children even before they’re born. We owe it the good in ourselves to keep their mothers warm and safe as they keep these children warm and safe in their wombs.

Every child’s story starts with the decision of a pregnant woman (the father may or may not be involved) to keep the life inside her growing. You can become a part of these lives, the most innocent lives in the world.

Sheltering Grace Ministry, Ltd. is a 501(c)3 Ltd. non-profit ministry. We resolve the initial crisis of homelessness by providing a safe place to live during pregnancy and by providing mothers with the tools they need to improve decision-making, to enhance employment options, and increase family income, to act responsibly as the head of their household, and to develop the self-reliance to progress to permanent independent living. Please join us in renewing and rebuilding the lives of these brave women – #Be1of5000.
