Living in The Spirit of Holiness – Lent

“Every child born into the world is a new thought of God, an ever fresh and radiant possibility.” – Kate Douglas Wiggin

We are in Lent and the Holy Week is at our doorstep. This season embrace the spirit of Resurrection, and let peace and gratitude fill our lives. It is also a time to reflect upon our life and activities to see how far we have grown mentally and spiritually. During these weeks, think about what negative influences we should give up or what positive things we should adopt.

The power of possibilities is immense; so much so that it can change the future of a person. Lent gives us that power, and so we urge you to take a look at how to use it wisely. It is the time to convert “What I Should be Doing” to “What I Will Do.”  You have always known your power to improve the world around you and NOW is the time to act on it. This Lent give up DOUBT, that nagging thought that prevents you from going out and helping someone in need; that makes you feel like the person on the receiving end doesn’t deserve your kindness; that their fate is something that they brought upon themselves. It is not for us to judge. If we don’t do our part in making the life of someone in need better – a starving homeless person or a tired homeless pregnant mother – we have fallen short of the gratitude towards the blessings we received. So, let us make sure that we focus only on the portion where someone will lead a better life, if only we extended our hand a little.

May this Lent be fruitful and beautiful for you and your loved ones.

Sheltering Grace Ministry, Ltd. is a 501(c)3 Ltd. non-profit ministry. We resolve the initial crisis of homelessness by providing a safe place to live during pregnancy and by providing mothers with the tools they need to improve decision-making, to enhance employment options, and increase family income, to act responsibly as the head of their household, and to develop the self-reliance to progress to permanent independent living. Please join us in renewing and rebuilding the lives of these brave women – #Be1of5000.
