New Los Angeles Parking Meters Designed to Help the Homeless
“Those who are happiest are those who do the most for others.” – Booker T. Washington
Putting money in the parking meter is not one of those joyous moments of the day. But the city and county representatives of Los Angeles have found a way to make it into a moment worth recollecting through a set of new and colorful “parking meters.” So, what does these new parking meters do? Well, every time you feed one of them, you are supporting a worthy cause, i.e., housing the homeless.
According to GoodNewsNetwork.org and LA Curbed, the coins from these parking meters are collected for C3, a non-profit that helps homeless find housing. Other than this, the meters also raise money through sponsorship. It is indeed an innovative way to convert an everyday mundane activity into something that can make a difference in the life of person in need.
